Treatment of Benign Skin Lesions

Patients of all ages may develop a variety of skin lesions that are not dangerous but may be unsightly or irritating.  When patients seek removal of these lesions, they are looking for a way to do so with a minimum amount of pain, downtime, and scarring.  We have a variety of methods available at our office for treatment and removal of skin lesions we can utilize to give you the best possible result.

Treatment of Benign Skin Lesions Overview

Your First Visit

At your initial visit we will evaluate your areas of concern and discuss options for treatment, recovery time, and the potential for scarring.  In some cases, we may recommend no treatment at all, particularly if we feel the potential difficulties involved in treatment outweigh the benefit of removal.  If there is uncertainty of the nature of the skin lesion, a biopsy may be recommended.  Once a treatment plan has been developed, we will schedule a convenient time to perform the procedure in our office.

Types of Benign Lesions

The Treatment

All of these treatments can be performed at our Lawrence office by our physicians or aestheticians utilizing a local or topical anesthetic.  Treatment times are usually 30 minutes or less and typically have minimal or mild pain afterward.  In most cases, normal activities can be resumed right away.  After treatment, we will discuss ways to minimize scarring to achieve the best possible result.

At Lawrence Plastic Surgery we have multiple methods available to treat your benign skin lesions, and will do our best to remove these troubling spots while leaving the least amount of scar possible.
